Exchange Rates are stored towards a Primary Currency.
Exchange Rates can be stored as Day Rate, Period Rate and Year Rate.
SICS supports that we can have different categories of rates for each type. Seen to be applicable for Period and Year rates; End rates, average rate, budget rate, etc.
For Day Rates different categories can be defined, possibly due to different source. Recommended use is to have only one day rate exchange rate table per primary currency.
SE-3178 - Display trace information for all details under the balance layer - China Re
Aim of function
When the RP business is linked to an Intra Group Assumed Business (IGC IAB), the bookings take place from the source ORP will be copied to the linked assumed business. But, at present, for the SOA generated in the IGC IAB, there is not any accounting trace information between the IGC IAB and the source ORP, which makes financial reconciliation on both sides very difficult.
In this situation, the system introduces a new detail pairing type, so that the source/target details can be inspected from a detail on the IGC IAB / ORP respectively. On the business ledger, when a detail of the balance is highlighted, you can choose the option to view the source/target details.

SE-3187 - Enhance TW domain restriction apply to non proportional installment automatic bookings - China Re
Aim of function
Some reinsurance companies use the domain restriction to prevent users from closing the worksheets that are created by the same users through Closing Worksheet window and Instalments, but they want to allow users to close the worksheets that are created by the same users through Retrocession Orders (including Retrocession Account Orders, Retrocession Calculation Orders, Restriction Group Orders, and Restriction Estimation Orders.).
Currently, the system restricts both booking of Instalments (including Instalment orders) as well as the Retrocession orders. Therefore, a new option within this domain restriction, to exclude retrocession orders from this automatic closing restriction is to be implemented.
The new additional restriction ‘Closing worksheets automatically closed as part of a process, not for Retrocession Orders’ will be enabled only when ‘Closing worksheets automatically closed as part of a process’ is selected.

SE-3189 - Add Due date condition to filter the worksheet in retro cession calculation order - China Re
Aim of function
At present, when running the retrocession calculation order, retrocession estimation calculation order or retrocession calculation order group, the system provides the extraction criteria Last Booking Year and Period / Last Accounting Year and Period for the user to define the extraction rules for ‘as original’ worksheets.
However, for some insurance companies, these extraction criteria are not enough to meet business requirements. Some international business, to control the cash flow, the extraction criteria of the retrocession accounting is the Booking Year and Period combined with the Due Date. So, the system introduces a new extraction criteria ‘Due Date’ in addition to the existing ones.

System Parameters Affected
The option to select Multiple Premium Rate tables will be available on the business PM condition only when the below system parameter is selected on Business–> Conditions

Prop Premium Calculation Rule:
**On the Prop Premium Calculation Rule option, a calculation basis rule can be defined using the following function

Multiple Prop Premium Rate tables can be selected and included in a calculation rule

Existing functionality affected
Additional Limits are defined on the Limit Condition OCC to specify the maximum Occupation Class and the maximum Extra Mortality percentage that will be allowed as per the terms and conditions of the contract. When the RPO is run and the cession that has been picked up by the RPO falls outside the allowable Occupation Class range or the EM% exceeds the limit, then the cession will not be retroceded and will be listed in the failed assignments with the reason
Note: The maximum Occupation Class will be determined by the value defined in the Search Priority of the Reference Data ‘Occupation Class’.
SE-2881 - Standalone Retrocessions with Sequential Retroprocessing - Heng An Standard Life
Aim of function
a) To be able to assign a cession benefit identifier for all the cession benefits within the benefit group
b) To be able to sequentially process retrocessions when the ‘standalone retrocessions’ functionality is in use
System Parameters Affected
The following new system parameters are available
Under Cessions :

Under Base Company Specific Settings- > Retrocession Basis:

Existing functionality affected
**When the system parameter ‘Cession Benefit Identifier Series in use’ is selected, each cession benefit within the cession will be assigned an identifier series which is the cession idenfitier and a suffix that starts with -1.
All cession benefits will have the Coverage Indicator set as ‘Unknown’ by default
When the coverage indicator is set as either a Base or Rider and the cessions are created through the loader, the benefit identifier will be assigned first to the cession benefit that has the coverage indicator as ‘Base’ and then each ‘Rider’ and then ‘Unknown’
These identifiers will not be available on the cession benefit view and will be used only when sequentially processing the retrocessions
When the system parameter ‘Method of Retrocession is Reinsured sequentially in excess of maximum retention’ is selected, the cession benefits that have been accumulated on per life, per benefit will be sequenced in the following order and the retroprocessing will be done sequentially
- Reinsurance Start Date
- Benefits that have the Coverage Indicator as Base
- Benefits that have the Coverage Indicator as Rider/ Unknown/ Blank
- When there is more than one benefit with the same Reinsurance Start date within the sequencing in points 1 to 4, the cession benefits will be sequenced based on the Cession Benefit Identifier
(Please note that for the functionality to work as described above, it is expected that both the system parameters mentioned are selected and the cessions are created with the ceded flag. Though the system parameters are independent, it is not suggested that they are switched on independently or used without the ceded flag on the cession as per the current implementation)
SE-2883 - Flexible Claim Recovery Calculation Rules - Heng An Standard Life
Aim of function
The aim of this enhancement is to process the claim recovery for a ceded paid claim by applying a flexible claim recovery calculation rule where the claim liability is not the sum reinsured
System Parameters Affected
A new system parameter under Business ‘Claim Liability Calculation Rule’ is available
It is possible to define the Claim Liability Calculation Rule here
eg:
!
Claim recovery = claim paid amount * current period retro amount / current period SAR where the ‘current period retro amount’= Sum at Risk+ Reserves on the inward cessions
The retroceded sum at risk would have been processed using the Sum at Risk on the inward cession here, but for the claim recovery, the reserve on the inward cession would also be included in the calculation
Existing functionality affected
On the SR condition of the OCC, when the Claim Liability Basis is selected as ‘Not SAR Reinsured’ the option to select a Claim Liability Calculation Rule will be available
The Calcualtion Rule that has been defined on the system parameters as described above can be selected and this rule will apply for all the claim recoveries done for cessions that have been created against this section of the business
!
Please note that this functionality is currently applicable only to outward claims with the status of Ceded Paid

SE-2885 - Reversals and Backdated Transactions on Retrocessions - Heng An Standard Life
Aim of function
To be able to enter a transaction number for each cession benefit transaction manually or through the cession loader and to be able to reverse specific transactions on the cession benefit and the corresponding outward cession benefit by referring to this transaction number
System Parameters Affected
A new system parameter on Cessions is now available

Existing functionality affected
On the cession benefit transaction:
A new field to input (or upload) a unique transaction number for each transaction is available. It will be defaulted to the amendment number of the transaction or updated sequentially on each transaction and can be overridden while creating the amendment. The cession loader output pattern also now contains an optional field ‘Transaction Number’
In the below screenshot, the SICS amendment number is Renewal (1), but the transaction number relevant to this cession that has been brought in from the core systems has been captured here as (4)

A new transaction type ‘Adjustment Reversal’ is available on the cession benefit as an amendment transaction
It will be possible to refer to specific cession benefit transactions using the transaction number and process Adjustment Reversals of that transaction

The Adjustment Reversal transaction will reverse the ACIs of the transaction and create a corresponding Adjustment Reversal on the linked retrocession transactions where available
No other field on the cession will be reversed and there will be no readjustment of the Sum at Risk based on these reversed transactions.
When more than one Adjustment Reversal transaction has to be processed, it will need to be done sequentially from the last active transaction.
Please note that the Adjustment Reversal transaction will be available only when the system parameter ‘Allow transaction number on cession benefits’ is selected. It is suggested that this system parameter is not selected when the Ceded functionality (i.e the ceded flag is selected on the cessions) is not in use

SE-3272 - Enhance updateUnderwritersEstimates web service to validate Estimation Complete flag - China Re
Aim of function
The client want to use updateUnderwritersEstimates web service to load Adjusted Estimates, and have requested a couple of additional features to the web service. We have added the following two new elements in the SOAP Message:
- checkEstimationComplete - When included in the message and set to ‘true’, the web service will NOT create any new Adjusted Estimates, or recalculate existing estimates on business sections where the Estimation Complete flag has been set. I.e. same functionality as the Underwriters Estimation Calculation Order
- updateEstimate - When included in the message and set to ‘true’, the web service will update existing Adjusted Estimates, instead of creating a new Adjusted Estimate. If dateOfEstimate is given in the message, the Adjusted Estimate with this As At Date is updated. If dateOfEstimate is NOT given in the message, the latest Adjusted Estimate is updated.

SE-2860 - Support stop calculation on estimation item/period level in Multi GAAP - DXC
Aim of function
When calculating Period Estimates, the general functionality is to always recalculate all Estimation Items and periods. Exceptions are:
- If the values has been manually overwritten, then a flag is set to prevent recalculation
- If the Complete flag is set on the Estimation item, in case this item will not be recalculated for any periods (depending of a global system parameter).
However, some times it may be relevant to stop the calculation on all or some Estimation Items for some periods, e.g. on all closed periods.
We have therefore implemented an option to stop the calculation for some/all estimation items for specific periods.
The new functionality is controlled by new Multi GAAP / General system parameters

Here you can setup the system to stop the calculation for flagged Estimation Items and Periods, or for all Estimation Items on closed periods. When Stop calculation for Closed Periods are selected, the Last Closed Period must be defined in the system parameter.
In case “Stop Period Estimation Calculation On Flagged Estimation Items / Periods” is used, a new mass update has been added within Periodic Functions, to set the ‘Stop Calc’ flag on the required Estimation Items and Periods.

In Period Estimates, it is possible to see the Stop Calc flag in a separate view.

When “View Stop Calculation” is selected, the Ow. column (Overwritten) is replaced with the StopCalc column.
This view is only available in View mode, and the flag cannot be set in the Period Estimates window.

SE-3281 - Populating Original Base Company on bookings created by UPR Order - Houston International Insurance Group
Aim of Function
Premium bookings on outward businesses can have different Base Companies and different Original Base Companies.
The Unearned Premium Reserve Order aggregates the source premium by various elements, such as Currency, Section, Accounting Classification and Base Company. Unearned Premium Reserve (UPR) is then calculated on each aggregated group.
Original Base Company is not an element in the aggregation, and UPR is therefore not populated on the UPR details.
This enhancement adds Original Base Company as an element in the aggregation of Source premium, and populates the Original Base Company on each UPR detail. The UPR will then have the same Original Base Company split as the source premium.

SE-3611 - Support for Hi DPI monitors - DXC
Aim of Function
Improve the clarity of the displayed windows when a High DPI monitor is in use. This includes displaying a sharper font and sharper icons.
Increasing the resolution of a monitor without increasing its physical size serves to increase the the DPI (dots per inch) that can be displayed. Historically there were 2 scenarios for handling this higher resolution:
- If run at the monitor at its full resolution, the images shown on screen are very sharp but very small and difficult to read.
- If you run the monitor at a lower resolution, the images become larger but increase in fuzziness as each pixel shown becomes larger.
To counteract this, Windows & macOS introduced a scaling setting. This scales up the displayed images to a size that is readable but still using the full resolution of the monitor. Text appears larger and more legible, and is very sharp since it is using the full resolution available. However, scaled up images look blurry unless higher resolution versions are supported by an application.
SICS now supports display scaling at 100% & 200% accurately with both fonts & icons displayed at their highest fidelity. Other scaling percentages will work but may introduce some blurriness as the icons are rescaled. We will continue to improve the look of the icons as our capability grows.

SE-3121 - ADH - Configure the Excel import compression ratio security limit and enhance the error shown to user - Swiss Re Zurich
Aim of function
An .xslx file is actually a kind of compressed/zip file. The compression ratio will be 1 (no compression) or less (the more compressed the file is, the smaller the ratio will be). Small ratio means high compression. When importing an Excel file into ADH, a security exception will be raised if the compression ratio is very small (i.e. a very tight compression). By default, the limit for raising a security exception is a compression ratio of 0.01.
- To avoid the security risk error due to high compression, configuring the Excel import compression ratio security limit through a new ADH system parameter.
- On import of .xslx file in ADH, a more meaningful error message will be displayed to the user if there is a security risk error.

SE-3168 - ADH - Domain Data block FGU enhancements - Swiss Re Zurich
Aim of function
- To check if a claim has FGU, a new output field hasFGU is introduced on Claim Section Domain Data block. The output will be ‘true’ if the FGU indicator is true for the identified claim section.

- The Section, Claim Section, Partner, Claim Ledger Figures and FGU Advisory Figures Domain Data blocks currently have a performance-related limit of 10 items/records which is not sufficient in some cases. So a new input field Index Limit is introduced to Section, Claim Section, Partner, Claim Ledger Figures and FGU Advisory Figures Domain Data blocks. If a numeric value is provided to this input field, this will set the limit of the database query, and overrides the default of 10.

-
Sorting logic based on as-of-date (most current first) is implemented for the FGU Advisory Figures Domain Data block.
-
In Entry Code Constant block properties, sorting is implemented of Entry Code drop down list.

ADH Edit/View Mapping
SE-3415 - ADH Versioning - Swiss Re Zurich
Aimof function
- To uniquely identify version comparisons in mappings between databases, a visual ID will be assigned for the mappings in different databases to check if the mapping has the same/identical contents. So a calculated fingerprint on the mapping will be displayed in the UI which is a 7-character value using characters 0-9 and a-z, without storing this value in the database. The 7-character value reflects the essential contents of the mapping.

- To uniquely identify version comparisons in output patterns between databases, a visual ID will be assigned for the output patterns in different databases to check if the output pattern has the same/identical contents. So a calculated fingerprint on the output pattern will be displayed in the UI which is a 7-character value using characters 0-9 and a-z, without storing this value in the database. The 7-character value reflects the essential contents of the output pattern.

- To have a adequate check when importing a mapping between databases, if the output patterns used by the mapping in the new environment are the same as in the original, a confirmation message will be displayed with if there is a list of unmatched Output Pattern fields, if the connected Output Pattern fields in the source database (and in the exported .xml file) do not find a matching (same name and same hierarchical structure) Output Pattern field in the target database. Such non-matching connections will be dropped.
