5.6. Link Base Companies

It may be necessary to allow balance pairing as well as Annulling of settled balances across a few base companies even though balance pairing/annulling across base companies in general is prevented.

Which Base Companies that are linked can be viewed/maintained from the Business Partner properties.

To link a base company:

1. Open and view the Base Company from Find Business Partner window.
2. Select the Details tab.
3. Select Linked Base Companies from the Properties list.
4. Click the Edit button. You see the Linked Base Companies window.
5. Select the Balance Pairing Across Base Companies check box.
6. Click in the Link Base Companies box and select Edit Linked Base Companies from the pop-up menu. The Edit Linked Base Companies window appears.
7. Find and transfer the Base Companies across which balance pairing/annulling should be allowed. Click Save.

When the Balance Pairing Across Base Companies check box is selected and no other base companies are listed, balance pairing/annulling cannot be done across any other base company. If selected and one or more base companies are listed, balance pairing/annulling can be done across the listed companies. If cleared, the base company’s balances can be paired/annulled with any other base company provided that there are no restrictions defined for these.

A link is created from the Base Company you are maintaining and the listed Base Companies and vice versa. A link is, however, not automatically created between the listed companies. This can be done manually, if necessary.
