16.14. Creating LCMBiar files

LCMBiar File #

LCMBIAR stands for Lifecycle Management Business Intelligence Archive (file type).

This LCMBiar file in the scenarios is used where the source and destination systems are not on the same network, the promotion management tool supports the promotion of jobs to the destination system by enabling you to export the job in the source system to an LCMBIAR file and import the job from the BIAR file to the destination system. Use the below steps to import a Lifecycle Management Business Intelligence ARchive (LCMBIAR) file from a local computer or from any other computer.

Log on to CMC as administrator directly on the server

Click on the promotion management

Create a new job

Fill in the required information, log on to environment and click OK.

Select required current production universe and the production reports which are not working.

Once selection is done click add (to select more) or add and close (when selection is finished)

Check for any dependencies. The connection is not required to get included.

Click on the Promote button

Click on the LCMBiar file destination - and select EXPORT

A popup window to save the file arrives.

After saving, the file will appear in the required folder.
