15.5. Document User Group
The Document User Group functionality allows the default destination file path (for produced documents) to be overridden for a single user or group(s) of users. This makes it easier for a group of people working with the same thing to find their produced documents.
Create a document user group
- Open System Parameter Maintenance and select the document-handling tab.
- Ask for edit mode in document user group box.
- Select create from the right mouse button pop-up menu in the left hand pane of the GUI.
- Add a document user group name, a file path and optionally a document extension. The text beside the document extension shows the program already associated with this extension
- Do not choose an already chosen extension (apart from RTF).
- Be aware that filling in DOC does not mean the output will be a DOC file, the output will be the same but with the extension you define as a file name.
- The intention of this is that you can fill in a new (un-used) extension, and have that extension associated with the same program .rtf is associated with in order to get your own custom document extensions.
- Press Save.
- The document user group is now available for selection in user preferences.
- All documents produced by a user, will be stored in the defined file path for the document user group instead of in the default file path.
- If the file path is changed all new produced documents will be stored in the new file path.
- Document produced by a user not being part of a user group will be stored in the default folder for produced documents.
