9.14. Module Key

On this tab, you enter keys to activate different SICS modules. If your company wants to take a module into use, contact your SICS account manager to obtain the key for that particular module.

Field	Description
*Enable Broker Settings*	Selected: * The naming convention of the system will change for the most crucial terms, to reflect that the base company is a broker. For example, the system will show the role Base Broker instead of Reinsurer for assumed business and Base Broker instead of Cedent for outward business. It has impact on the levels of businessused by brokers, e.g. assumed business, retrocessionaire participation and master agreement. * When protecting a business using the ‘Add & Realize Retrocessionaire Fac Protection’option, the appearing window looks different from the standard. The user is able to enter the base brokerage, while the overriding commission is not available. In addition, this window shows the business deduction highlights from the assumed business. * The system makes the Brokerage Bookings Handling function available in the Periodic Functions folder. This enables your company to establish the amount of own brokerage, produced in a certain period based on accounting information. Cleared: The system does NOT activate any of the three above features, i.e. the system remains a standard reinsurance system, where the base company primarily is a reinsurers or a cedent.
