Installation

Installing the SICS Java Launcher is a matter of extracting the SicsJavaLauncher.zip file to a suitable location and making the relevant configuration settings in the /conf/SicsJavaLauncher.ini file.

The configuration settings are described in detail inside the /resources/SicsJavaLauncher.ini file.

The location to the 64-bit JRE 17+ installation can be configured in SicsJavaLauncher.bat. By default the script will look for the JRE inside the SICS Java Launcher install folder.

Low-level logging and trouble shooting are supported through log4j. Please see the /conf/log4j2.xml file for details. The launcher’s splash screen images /resources/sics4splashLF.png and /resources/sics4splashPC.png and the icon /resources/launcher.ico may be replaced, if desired.

To start the launcher, run SicsJavaLauncher.bat, either directly or from a shortcut.

Please note that 64-bit Windows and a 64-bit JRE 17+ (Java Runtime Environment 17) or higher is required to run the SicsJavaLauncher. The Launcher CANNOT run on 32-bit Windows, nor with a 32-bit JRE on 64-bit Windows. DXC SICS is delivered with a suitable 64-bit Java 21 JRE.
