How to Set the Search Priority

14.3. How to Set the Search Priority

To view and modify the search priority for a Reference Data value, you must open the property window of the value in the Reference Data Maintenance window. For each Reference Data value that can be used in Section Classifications, you see a field at the bottom of the window, labelled Section Classification Searchable Item Priority.

Note! It is only relevant to set the Search Priority for those reference data types that are used in Section- and Accounting Classification.

To get a list of the relevant Data Types, you can do the following:

  1. Open the Find Value window by clicking the Find Value button.
  2. Select the Display only Section/Accounting Classification Types check box.
  3. Click Find Now.

The window you see shows the Data Types that are used for Section- and Accounting Classification. To view the values for a particular data type-and set the Search Priority for each value-you can select the Data Type, and click Find Now. The values for the selected Data Type are shown in the Reference Data Maintenance window.

Low number means high priority.

Initially all values have priority 999. If two values have the same priority, the sort order (based on the Code value) determines the priority.

In the list of Reference Data Valuesin the Reference Data maintenance window, the Search Priority values are displayed in a separate column (to the far right).

If you want to view the list of values sorted on priority, you can open the Column View, Sorting & Extraction window (point the mouse to the column heading and click the right mouse button) and select Search Priority as the sort criteria.
