4.1. Utility Desktop
The System Administration desktop in SICS is where the software is customised to individual company needs, and where security measures are set.

System Administration functionality is divided into two sections on the SICS desktop: The System Administration folder, and the System Administration Utility. The System Administration utility does not appear on the user’s desktop. Both sections require passwords to access.

Only a user with system administrator rights can access the System Administration Utility. The SICS System Administration Utility is where you create the SICS database, and it lets you:
- Drop and create SICS database tables
- Load system default data into the database
- Load sample data into the database
- Manage multiple installations
- Update the database for new releases of SICS
- Run the SICS Migration Utility
- Perform General System Administration
Using the System Administration Utility it is possible, for example, to drop an entire database schema. This could be detrimental if done on the wrong schema, so the tool is only one or two people in your company.
Note! With the System Administration Utility it is possible to drop an entire database schema. This could be detrimental if done on the wrong schema, so the tool is only controlled by one or two people in your company.
