Find a Business Partner

In situations where you want to update a business partner or check if the partner exist you use the search functionality within SICS.

Search for Business Partner by Name #

  1. Double-click the Business Partner icon in the Partner folder on the SICS desktop. You see the Find Business Partner window.
  2. On the Name tab, enter a name, or part of the name.
  3. Click the Find Now button. You see the search results in the display list.

Search for Business Partner by Former Name #

  1. Double-click the Business Partner icon in the Partner folder on the SICS desktop. You see the Find: Business Partner window.
  2. On the Name tab, select the Former check box.
  3. Enter the business partner’s former name.
  4. Click the ‘Find Now’ button. You see the search results in the display list.

Search for Business Partner by Identifier #

  1. Double-click the Business Partner icon in the Partner folder on the SICS desktop. You see the Find Business Partner window.
  2. On the ID tab, select required ID type and enter the ID.
  3. Click the ‘Find Now ‘button. You see the results of your search in the display list.

Search for Business Partner by eMessaging Party Identifier #

  1. Double click the Business Partner icon in the Partner folder on the SICS desktop. You will see the Find Business Partner window
  2. On the ID tab, in the eMessaging Memberships box, select Agency, and enter an ID
  3. Click the Find Now button. You see the results of your search in the display list

Agency or ID can be omitted. ID’s can include wildcards for searches on partial id’s. Can be used in conjunction with other search options.

Search for Business Partners by Type of Company and Specific Country #

  1. Double-click the Business Partner icon in the Partner folder on the desktop. You see the Find Business Partner window.
  2. On the Name tab select relevant Type of Company
  3. On the Country & State tab select relevant country.
  4. Click Find Now button

Search for Business Partners by Country Group #

  1. Double-click the Business Partner icon in the Partner folder on the desktop. You see the Find Business Partner window.
  2. On the Country & State tab select relevant Country Group
  3. If wanted, select a Country. Only countries belonging to the selected Country Group are available for selection
  4. Click Find Now button

Search for Business Partners by Business Partner Group #

  1. Double-click the Business Partner icon in the Partner folder on the desktop. You see the Find Business Partner window.
  2. On the Name tab select relevant Business Partner Group
  3. Click Find Now button

Field Description
Name Finds a company by its name.

Values: Free-text, maximum 80 characters.

Mandatory: No
Full Name A company’s legal name.

Values: Free-text, maximum 40 characters.

Mandatory: No
Short Name A company’s abbreviated name.

Values: Free-text, maximum 40 characters.

Mandatory: No
Type of Name The categories of company names you want to include in the search.

Values:
Current- Searches on Name
Former - Searches on all Former Names
Alternative - Searches on all Alternative Names

Default: Current

Mandatory: No
Type of Company A company’s activity/operation.

Values: Customised by your company e.g. Broker, Cedent, Insurer

Default value: None

Business Partner Group A company’s Business Partner Group.

Values: Customized by your company

Mandatory: No
Status The status indicates if the company is valid, and is allowed to make business agreements.

Values:
Active - the partner is open, i.e. you do business/ agreements with partner.
Inactive - not a valid partner i.e. no longer valid to do business/agreements with partner
All - both Active and Inactive

Default: Active

Base Includes your own company(ies) in the search or not

Legal Entity A registered and licensed business.

Show Details Gives further details of a partner on result list e.g. main address.
