Maintain Merger Groups #

Merger Group is meant for situations when you have two or more offers/agreements, which have combined to become the same agreement. This makes it necessary to keep track of these together. The reason might be that your company has merged with another company participating in the same agreement. Then you might want to mark all these businesses with a common merger group name to make it possible to make collective analysis or handling these businesses later as one business. Click the Members tab, click in the display list and click the right-mouse button to see the following options:

  • Assign Business, which lets you assign business(es) to a Merger Group
  • Remove Assignment, which removes the link between the business and the group.
  • Business Properties, which lets you see details of the business.

If you create a new group starting from the agreement, you name the group and the system assigns this agreement to the group.

Business Group Statistics: Open this menu button from the Main info tab to see the combined statistics for the members of the Merger group. For more information about online statistics in SICS, refer to Examine Business Actual Results in the_Analyse Business_ chapter.

Maintain Bouquet Calculation Groups #

A bouquet calculation group contains proportional treaties for which profit commission and/or sliding scale commission should be calculated together.

For Assumed Business this is informational only, it indicates that the cedent will calculate the profit commission and/or the sliding scale commission on a cumulative basis for the included businesses, but for outward proportional treaties this information can be used in SICS functions. It is possible to calculate both profit commission and sliding scale commission for the businesses in a group when running a retrocession calculation group order with these businesses included.

If a business is participating in such a group, the calculation is to be made across the participating agreement. If so, it is also indicated on the business profit commission conditions or sliding scale commission conditions. Click in the Members tab, click the display list and click the right-mouse button to see the following options:

  • Add Business to Bouquet Calculation Group, which lets you add business(es) to a Bouquet Calculation Group.
  • Remove Business from Bouquet Calculation Group, which lets you remove a business from a bouquet calculation group.
  • Business Properties, which lets you see the details of the business.

If you create a new group starting from the agreement, you name the group and the system assigns this agreement to the group.

Bouquet Calculation groups also show check boxes indicating For Profit Calculation, or For Sliding Scale Commission.

Profit Calculation: Shows the Profit Commission Calculation for the group.

Sliding Scale Commission: Shows the Sliding Scale Commission for the group.

Business Group Statistics: Open this menu button from the Main info tab to see the combined statistics for the members of the Bouquet Calculation group. For more information about online statistics in SICS, refer to Examine Business Actual Results in the_Analyse Business_ chapter.

Maintain Offer Groups #

When you have two or more offers or quotes which are, for example, alternative excess of loss treaties for one layer or alternative programs with several layers of excess of loss treaties, you can mark all these offers or quotes with a common offer group name. It is then possible to do a collective analysis or make decisions on these offers or quotes. Click the Members tab, click in the display list and click the right-mouse button to see the following options:

  • Assign Business, which lets you assign business(es) to a Offer Group.
  • Remove Assignment, which removes the link between the business and the group.
  • Business Properties, which lets you see details of the business.

If you create a new group starting from the offer, you name the group and the system assigns this offer to the group.

Business Group Statistics: Open this menu button from the Main info tab to see the combined statistics for the members of the Offer group. For more information about online statistics in SICS, refer to Examine Business Actual Results in the_Analyse Business_ chapter.

Maintain Master Treaty Groups #

SICS can handle treaties agreed jointly be several cedents. You can easily see when treaties belong together, but still distinguish between the cedents when it comes to special terms, accounting and protection assignment. Using Master Treaty Groups is one way that this can be done.

Master Treaty Groups can contain businesses of one of the following two combinations of Level of Business:

  • Assumed Business and/or Administrative Business
  • Outward Cedent’s Contract

Set Up Master Treaty Group #

Master Treaty Groups can contain businesses of one of the following two combinations of Level of Business:

- Assumed Business and/or Administrative Business

- Outward Cedent’s Contract | You can create a new Master Treaty Group or assign to an existing Master Treaty Group by clicking the Master Treaty Group Menu button on the Business tab.

If you create a new group starting from the treaty, you name the group and the system assigns the treaty to the group. You can also create the group from the Business Group section on the SICS desktop.

Double-click a master treaty group to see its properties. The Identifier on the Properties window is the number that identifies the Master Treaty Group. Whether your identifier is defined manually or automatically depends on how the parameter was set by your SICS System Administrator. |

Handle Business Using Master Treaty Group #

When you open the Properties window for a Master Treaty Group, you can click the Members tab, and click Find Now to see all the member treaties. You can further narrow your search by searching on Underwriting Year. To see all details of the found business, select the Show Details check box.

  • Copy Business, adds a new business to the group by copying an existing business in the group. (When you select an item in the display list, and then select Copy Business from the pop-up menu, you see the Copy to New Business window.) The identifier from the group then becomes part of the identifier of the business (if your System Administrator has defined the System Parameters this way).
  • Remove Assignment, which removes the link between the business and the group.
  • Business Properties, which lets you see details of the business.
  • Mass Renewal, to renew business participating in the group. Mass Renewal lets you indicate the expiry date (Insured Period To date) for extraction of the business to be renewed. The system then shows only businesses with an Insured Period To date equal to or smaller than the date you selected. The system also shows the newest Insured Period To dates for each business. The businesses are renewed for one year. Business Group Statistics: Open this menu button from the Main info tab to see the combined statistics for the members of the Master Treaty group. For more information about online statistics in SICS, refer to Examine Business Actual Results in the_Analyse Business_ chapter.

Note! A business can only participate in one Master Treaty Group. And, a business that participates in the group must, upon renewal, still belong to the group. (This means that if one of the insured periods of the business is connected to these group, all insured periods must be connected.)
